Make Up for Christmas Day

I LOVE GLITTER AND SPARKLES, and dark red lips and fancy winged liner and bold brows and woolly jumpers and warm coats and blanket scarves and everything about Christmas! Especially when I can channel it into my make up, which I'm definitely beginning to experiment with more. So what better time of year is there than Christmas to go all out and spend time on my make up, even more so because my Dad loves to get his camera out and save the memories (I love looking back at them).

Empties: The Mascara Edition

My makeup collection looked as if it was building but then I realised that I had a whole host of products which are out of date or empty and I just hadn't chucked them away yet because I just couldn't find the time, but I have now found the time and just for you I photographed them and thought I would share my thoughts on the products!

Today I'm bringing you another guest post from the lovely Meg from 'Simply Meg'. I've been loving her posts and she's been nothing but lovely every time we have spoken, so definitely show her some love. As always, all of her links will be linked at the end of the post.
Hi, it's Meg and I'm from my blog 'Simply Meg' which you can check out here. I hope you're all having a good day and enjoy this post!
I love the idea of this series going on on Emily's blog and was so happy when I found out she was looking for people to guest post and that's how I ended up here! Anyway, lets just get on with this.

This is my favourite quote and it means a lot to me. I practically live by this quote and even have it in a small polagram style photo on my wall!
It means so much to me and I put this quote into use about a week ago when my little sister came to me asking for help on her homework because she didn't understand a new topic she w…

Little Things #ThursdayThoughts

Hello lovelies,
I hope you're having a lovely Thursday!

I'm fortunate to have a job in which my employer is lovely and I enjoy it because I learn something new every time I step through the door. There are so many pros and cons to working when you're a teenager but I definitely feel the positives outweigh the negatives.
Work can be difficult, it's something you have to do to earn money because money is what keeps you comfortable (sadly, most things cost) and there are many benefits to having it. It just makes life easier! We put ourselves through jobs we really don't enjoy to earn money. This is my second job and although my first was better paid, it got repetitive and I wasn't enjoying the early mornings: 6am starts are not the best! Although these were only little negative things (and there were far more positives) it wasn't something I couldn't continue with due to my hours.  However, I now work a job I enjoy a lot more.
However. this post isn't…

Freak? #ThursdayThoughts

Last Thursday I launched a new series called #ThursdayThoughts (you can read the first post here). It got a wonderful response and as a result I've opened it for you guys to share your thoughts too. Today's quote was chosen by the beautiful and brave Tara from Dancing Through Life. I'm going to leave all of her links at the end of this post, so make sure to pop over and say hello.

Before arguments start about how messed up the Heathers movie is and how it romanticized teen suicide (which it really doesn’t), you must listen and see the musical (it’s on YouTube) to fully understand why I love it so much and why I am writing about a quote from one of the songs. Underneath all the drama of the movie and musical, there are some really good underlying messages one can take away from it. The main one being: our differences. Throughout the whole musical, characters are being bullied for what makes them a “freak” according to society. And in the end, they finally learn how to celebr…

Plymouth & Pont-Aven | Holiday 2016

Holidays are the perfect time to take a deep breath, sit back and relax. At the moment I'm two weeks away from half term and couldn't be more ready for it. I'm trying my best to work hard but I have to admit I'm getting a little tired (this is partly my own fault because I've ended up staying a little later that usual). So I'm going to take my free time and spend it have a look at my holiday photos this year and, of course, there seemed like no better time to share them with you too!

Passion #ThursdayThoughts

Hello lovely people,
I hope you're having a wonderful day and have spent moments doing something you really enjoy.
As you're reading this I am helping at my Sixth Form open evening and last Thursday I was doing the exact same, except that it was for the entire school. Whilst wondering the Chemistry department I came across a year 7 boy, short in height, friendly and, more than ever, passionate about what he was doing in that moment.
He asked me: 'can I show you how to do this experiment?' and although, I've done the test for hydrogen many times over the course of my school career, I said yes because I could see the excitement in his eyes to talk me through what he was doing. As he added the Magnesium to the Hydrochloric acid I placed my thumb over the test tube and he lit a wooden splint in the bunsen burner. He swiftly brought the splint over and got me to move my hand a squeaky pop sound could be heard, indicating that hydrogen was present. Hearing the pop his …

Autumn Vibes

Like, what seems to be, every other blogger on planet earth, I am very very excited about Autumn and the changing of the seasons, so I have compiled a list of all the things I'm looking forward to and things I want to Autumn of 2016.
Create a blog post filled with Autumnal photos and snapshots I'm taking. Enjoy a lot of Hot Chocolates. Try a Pumpkin Spice Latte, Buy a large Autumn themed Yankee Candle. Wear Winged eyeliner once a week. Break out the dark lipsticks a little more often. Fill up my Autumn Crafts Pinterest Board and complete as may as possible. Create an Autumn playlist on Spotify. Carve a pumpkin. Watch a Disney Film every weekend. Have a scary movie night with all my friends. Go to, or, host a Halloween party. Make some spooky themed treats. Attempt some Halloween nail art. Film a Halloween GRWM video. Plan a girls weekend with my female friends. Go to my towns local Bonfire night and go on a lot of rides. Wearing my fluffy slippers until they have holes in the…

My Everyday Autumn Make Up

I like to keep my make up single, defining my features and looking as natural as possible. Occasionally adding a bold lipstick to venture out of my comfort zone or embrace the weather outside, which is why I reach for a darker or berry tone in Autumn.

I want a fresh start.

I'm not happy with my blog or my YouTube. It's down to me to change it. I published a post a couple of weeks ago which I titled 'blogs are like trains' and I still stand by everything that I said in that post but right now, and for a while, I have needed a refresh. A button which I press and a clean slate is presented for me to doodle all over. I don't know if I expected everything to change like magic or overnight and for me to suddenly be happier with the content I'm producing but even so what I thought was going to happen did not happen and I need to hit refresh again. I need a re-branding, new focus and direction to travel in because I am not the same as I was two years ago. I've changed and that's not a bad thing but it does mean that I need to address it, even if this post is just for myself and to power myself into giving my all and producing content I'm happy with.
So to keep this short and sweet I'm going to say nothing more. I'm g…

Sick Day Essentials

I think I'm quite lucky, I don't get ill all that often and when I do it's usually not that bad... I say that, I'm probably a pain when I'm ill. However there are some home comforts you always want when you're under the weather and since I was feeling a little sick this weekend it seemed like the perfect time to share with you my sick day essentials. Especially as Autumn and Winter are on the way and that's when colds seem to become a lot more common.
The basics for a sick day go as follows: Olbas Oil, Paracetamol or Ibuprofen (if needed), tissues, time and rest. They're a given and something I probably don't have to explain. However there are a few things I like to have when I'm feeling ill. I usually start by setting up a comfortable place to dwell: tucked up in bed or in a sea of blankets on the sofa. I try and move out of my room because I don't want to be stuck in it 24/7.  It's essential in this modern era to have some access to i…

Autumn Lip Picks

Seventeen Lip Crayon in Heartbreaker Nivea Pearl Lip Balm Make Up Revolution Lip Stick in Looking Ahead MUA Matte Lip Stick in Wild Berry Rimmel London Lip Stick in 077 Asia
Autumn is fast approaching and I, for one, could not be more excited. I'm ready for the colder weather, cosy jumpers and, of course, deeper, darker lipsticks. Burnt browns, rusty reds and pale pinks, you name them and I want to wear them. I've got a particular soft spot for rusty reds, which are a new discovery of mine and a shade I find suits my skin tone the most. Each product I have shown here is available in the drug store and are all quite cheap, so they're perfect for those of you on a budget this season. The Seventeen lip crayons are some of my favourite lip products, none of them are matte, but they come in a beautiful selection of colours. Heartbreaker in particular is a deeper red but has gold flecks in it, so is perfect for... dare I say it... CHRISTMAS! I've also been grabbing the Make Up R…

August Favourites

Happy September! I now feel that it is officially Autumn, although calendars state otherwise, I'm looking forward to everything about these next few months: a new school year, colder weather, the changing of the leaves on trees, Halloween and, dare I say it?! Christmas!! Every month my subscription box and social media feeds start to flood with favourites videos and posts and because I love reading and watching them so much I'm doing my own.

Blogs are like Trains

I never thought I'd be posting a blog post similar to this one because I try to make and take each blog post as their own and my blog itself seems to fall under no category but I feel I need to write this for myself. For my own piece of mind.

I started this blog over two years ago, in fact, almost three years and I guess time really does fly when you're having fun. Those two years have flown by so quickly and I've only really been writing for an audience, thanks to some of my social media platforms, for a year and, my oh my, has this little space grown. I've received comments on most of the posts I've published since and there are people who actively choose to come back and say hello every time I post (they're some of my favourite people ever). I've discovered more blogs that I ever imagined the Internet could hold and I've loved every single one of them. You can't help but compare yourself but, luckily, I don't feel I have to compete to be bette…

Mary Berry's Chocolate Fork Biscuits from Tanya Bakes | Collaboration

Today I'm back with another recipe and another collaboration! I feel this is the perfect time to post a recipe because it's coming to the end of a lovely summer, I certainly enjoyed it, and school is quickly approaching. So, although I'm very excited to see all my friends again there are moments when it's not the most exciting prospect, so to bring ourselves up we need to treat ourselves and this recipe is perfect for that! The lovely LouLoves and I have decided to share with you a recipe from the Tanya Bakes biscuit section and I'll link all her social media at the end so make sure to pop over and say hello!
You Will Need: 100g Unsalted Butter, softened 50g Golden Caster Sugar 150g Self-raining Flour 25g Cocoa Powder A Splash of Milk (optional)
Method: 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celcius. 2. Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper. 3. Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. 4. Add the flour and cocoa butter until well combines. Add mil…

18th July 2016. My beautiful friend Eleanor placed a birthday gift in my hand, it was heavy, a lot heavier than it looked and wrapped in a glistening metallic paper. Already I knew it was going to be something I loved and I couldn't even begin to guess what it was, so as I tore off the wrapping paper you can probably, only just, picture the excitement and shock on my face when I discovered she had bought me the Body Shop premium range box set, containing all the mango products. However, what you're probably not expecting is that although I love the Body Shop very very much, I haven't ever tried some of their most popular or 'well known' products. No, I've never picked up a Body Shop body butter and had the pleasure of working it into my skin or using a sugar scrub to exfoliate my arms in the shower. I'm one very lucky person and it seemed only fitting to write a 'first impressions' blog post about the products and my thoughts on them (I've also…
